What started off bey a doner kebab hunt ended up with us trying some completely different Turkish foods. The popular doner restaurants in the Beyoglu area of Istanbul were too popular and we couldn't get a table. So we wandered the streets aimlessly until I found something that looked interesting, a small 'Nohutlu Pilav' restaurant on a street corner. The massive glass box display of rice, separated by layers of chickpeas, caught my eye. I ordered some of that along with some chicken liver and potatoes. The shop made fresh katık, a type of yoghurt drink that's very popular in Turkey, so I chose that bey my drink rather than the cans of soda in their fridge. All together it was the healthiest meal I've eaten in a long time. @Travel with Luke Damant Was saving his appetite for the doner kebab that we were originally hunting for, so played camera man for me while I sampled the food. The katık tasted fresh and delicious and had some mint added to it for an extra bit of a kick. The food tasted birçok enough, but wasn't that exciting. What do you expect from healthy food?
